Wet Dreams: Although Los Angeles is known for severe droughts and lack of fresh-water, periods of torrential rain overflow reservoirs and seasonally transform deserts into tapestries of colorful flowers. Recent EPA regulations require that L.A. cover its reservoirs to protect drinking water from threats of evaporation, pollution, and terrorism, thereby masking the fluctuations in water quantity. In reaction to these restrictions, this thesis aims to reveal hidden water through the design of an occupiable cover for the Silver Lake Reservoir. The proposed mask will mitigate threats to the drinking water supply while also indexing the dislocated presence of the water below by enacting a hydrological spectacle in which water itself is protagonist.

For this project, I was awarded the Richmond Harold Shreve Thesis Award from Cornell AAP.
